The Local Police of Cartagena has carried out during the last week a special Road Safety campaign, in collaboration with the General Direction of Traffic, directed to trucks and vans that has allowed to realize controls in a total of 914 vehicles in diverse points of the city.
During this campaign we have been able to check the speed of vehicles, breathe test, check the use of seat belts and mobile phones, as well as the technical conditions of vehicles.
The objective has been the reduction of fatal traffic accidents in vehicles used for the transport of goods and distribution.
In the framework of this campaign, Local Police agents have carried out inspections on vehicles, in which the focus has been on both authorizations and documents, technical conditions and safety elements;
Such as on drivers, who have been reviewed driving license, driving and rest times, or alcohol and drug use, among others.
Thus, of the 914 vehicles checked, 55 complaints have been processed, one of which has been due to speeding, one to alcohol, another due to the seat belt and two due to lack of driving license.
In addition, there have been 36 complaints related to the ITV, six relating to the vehicle, four relating to the vehicle and four other complaints due to other matters.
