The Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena has initiated a collaboration with the Platform for Mortgage Affected (PAH) and the Consumer Office to offer comprehensive advice to citizens on soil clauses.
And it is that, after the sentence issued by the European Court of Justice on 21 December, in which it declared their nullity, the Consejalía that runs Carmen Martín del Amor, initiated, through the Housing Assistance Service, A free counseling service for those affected in which they detected a problem of misinformation that has motivated the implementation of this new service.
Therefore, the Department has decided to coordinate efforts with other entities such as the Mortgage Affected Platform and the Municipal Consumer Bureau to offer a comprehensive service.
"We have noticed that the citizens are very badly informed about the land clauses, most do not know that the deadlines are not the priority and many of them do not know their rights", informed the mayor of Social Services, who has Lamented that this "leads them to make mistakes in their claims which, in some cases, can ruin the whole process."
In this way, the Mortgage Affected Platform has set up informative workshops in the neighborhoods, with the aim of making citizens aware of the claim process before starting it, as well as the documentation they have to contribute to it In progress, such as mortgage deed and loan receipts.
