MC shows its absolute support to the requirement made by the Association of Residents of the Station Sector to the regional administration to carry out a modification of Law 9/2005, of the Region of Murcia, which establishes a rate to try to reduce to Maximum waste and promote the treatment of these, not considering the circumstances of exemption the specific situation of El Hondón in Cartagena.

The application of this rate would imply a penalty for the progress of the decontamination project, generating an extra cost of millions of euros that compromises the viability of the recovery of the environment and the improvement of its environmental conditions.

It should be recalled that, with respect to Hondón, the waste is the result of historical production processes, accumulated over decades, and that the plant was dismantled in the year 2000.
