From this Thursday, February 16th until March 5th, all residents over 16 years old who are registered in the municipal district of Cartagena, will be able to decide by means of their vote the destination of 1,569,387 euros, amount recorded in the Municipal budget of 2017 within the heading known as participatory budgets.
To finalize the details of this pilot initiative, promoted by the Department of Finance, Wednesday was held a meeting that has had the Councilor for Transparency and Good Governance, Participation, Decentralization and Celebrations, Juan Pedro Torralba, and the councilor Delegate of Portal and Office of Transparency, María José Soler.
A working meeting attended by officials from the OMITAS (Municipal Information Offices and Administrative Processing), as well as other municipal employees who have been provided with information and training, with a view to the correct development of the voting process of The finalist projects, a total of 93 of the 2,332 proposals collected.
Of the projects selected, 53 correspond to deputations, and cover actions in matters of heritage recovery;
lighting;
sports facilities;
Parkland;
Pedestrian access;
Track arrangements;
Reordering of traffic;
public places;
Among other initiatives.
At the pre-voting meeting, he also established a work schedule to bring voting closer to the citizen in order to promote the greatest possible degree of participation.
VOTING SYSTEM
For the voting, by the neighbors, of the projects to which the participatory budgets will be used, ballot boxes will be installed, both in the administrative building of San Miguel and in the municipal offices of decentralization (OMITAS), and in neighborhood associations Where there are no OMITAS.
It can also be done through the contiGo platform, integrated in the municipal website
To vote in person it will be necessary to show the National Identity Document.
Likewise, the vote will be computerized to avoid duplication and give more rigor to the process.
Each person can select up to three of the proposed projects.
Likewise, they may choose less.
If more than three are marked, the ballot will be considered void.
Voting will take place from February 16 to March 5.
