The Municipal Board of Sale Ambulante will encourage the participation of citizens and their associations (10/02/2017)

The Local Government Board today approved, on the proposal of the deputy mayor and councilor of the Economic Strategy Area, Ana Belén Castejón, the creation of the Municipal Board of Sale Ambulante and its internal regulations.

According to Castejón, it is the highest organ of participation and debate of citizens and associations in street vending, according to regional law of non-sedentary street vending and the municipal ordinance, approved in June 2016.

The Board will have consultative, informative and advisory functions, with the capacity to make proposals and issue reports.

Its members, appointed by the Local Government Board, will be the following:

The councilor who has delegated street vending competitions, who will act as president.

Two councilors appointed by the Government Team.

A councilor from each group of the Opposition.

A representative of the associations of street vendors.

A representative of the Federation of Small and Medium Traders of Cartagena.

A representative of COEC.

A representative of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Cartagena.

A representative of the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Cartagena and Comarca

A representative of the neighborhood councils designated by the Department of Decentralization.

A representative of the Local Police.

And an official for each of the following departments: Markets and Outbound Sales;

Urbanism and Infrastructure;

Management of Public Road and Commerce.

This new Board "will allow us to share with all the vendors all the information and, from there, it will be possible to start up improvements and the vacancies that exist at the moment", explained Castejón, who has confirmed that at present There are 310 vacant positions in the municipal markets.

Despite the consultative and informative nature, the deputy mayor said that "even if the statutes do not contemplate this, for me it will be binding" because "what emanates from there and the greatest possible consensus will be what everyone wants."

In addition, it has announced that it is going to start to work so that the market of the Urrutias is a reality this next summer.

Thus, this proposal is going to be taken to the next plenum of the City of Cartagena, where it must be approved, after which it will be submitted to a public exhibition so that "anyone who wants can, through allegations, improve or amend what we have approved ".

Once this process is completed, the resolution will be published in the BORM.

"It will be a priority and we will work to make it so," said the Councilor for Economic Strategy and Employment.

At the same time, he has thanked the work and contributions of the groups in the opposition and has assured that "it is a success of all", while he pointed out that this is a "very participatory process" and also expressed his gratitude to Sellers and vendors associations "because of their patience, because it has not been easy and these jobs depends on their work".

HELP FOR SHOPPING IN THE HELMET

The Board of Governors has also approved, within the Area of ​​Economic Strategy, directed by Ana Belén Castejón, three subsidies of ten thousand euros each, corresponding to the Plan of Support to the Investment in the Historic Quarter.

The beneficiaries of this aid have been a pharmacy whose premises have recently been renovated in the street of the Serreta;

The reform of a restaurant and catering establishment in Campos street;

And a retail store for the sale and tasting of meat products on Honda Street.
