More than 150 international students from 21 countries will study at the UPCT during the second semester (10/02/2017)

The Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) today welcomed the 156 international exchange students who will study at the University during this second semester of the academic year.

Students come from 21 different countries, 16 European, 4 Ibero-American and India.

The students have known the operation and services of the UPCT.

Welcome activities to facilitate their integration will last for a week.

Of this total, 93 come from other European countries within the Erasmus + program, 22 from Iberoamerica and another 2 from the Golondrina program, which allows young Argentines with Murcia origins to study in the Region of Murcia.

Another 39 young Indians come within a training program specially developed for this country.

The country that brings more students returns to Poland as in the first quarter, with a total of 22 students.

After her we find Germany (15), Italy (14) and France (12) as the European countries that more students contribute, while Latin America especially emphasizes the presence of Mexican students, which total a total of 18. With these new 156 Students, the number of international students that the UPCT has received throughout this academic year rises to 339.

The welcome ceremony took place at the Isaac Peral Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Enterprise Sciences and he was assisted by the Vice President of Internationalization of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, José Manuel Ferrández, and the director general of Universities and Research of The Region of Murcia, Juan Monzó, who has highlighted the data that demonstrate the greater employability of students with experiences abroad.

A welcome that will last a week

After this institutional event, where students have learned how UPCT works, the new students have visited the main tourist sites and university of the city, in addition to being received by the mayor of Cartagena, José López, at the Palace Hall .

In addition, in order to facilitate its integration into the daily life of the city, the Erasmus Student Network Cartagena University Association has prepared a series of activities throughout this week that highlight a tapas route, a sports tournament, a tourist gymkana or a Asian tasting.
