MC celebrates the excellent data obtained reaffirming Cartagena as the cultural capital of the Region.
This is clear from the conclusions drawn from the study 'Culture in Spain in 2016', carried out by the Observatory of Culture of the Contemporary Foundation, in which 361 experts from the field of cultural management participated.
In this way, regional experts in the different aspects of cultural creation and production have meant two events organized by the City of Cartagena as the cultural representations of greater depth and impact in the Region.
These are 'La Mar de Músicas' and the 'Cartagena Jazz Festival'.
The list of the first ten events also includes a museum located in our city (MURAM);
As well as the International Film Festival of Cartagena (FICC), and The Night of Museums.
In short, five of the main cultural events in regional territory were held last year in Cartagena.
This reality, based on the opinion of independent experts, shows the absolute leadership exercised by Cartagena in the cultural field.
This is the consequence of a line of action sponsored by MC in the local Government and, in a special way, from the area of ​​Culture and Heritage directed by Ricardo Segado.
The coordinator of the Culture area of ​​MC, Ignacio Borgoñós, stressed that "the data we have learned that Cartagena is the cultural capital of the Region. From here I want to congratulate the area of ​​Culture and Heritage directed by Ricardo Segado, who, with little Economic support of the Autonomous Community, has achieved in just twenty months very good results that place the festivals and events of the municipality in the regional vanguard.
"It is further evidence to refute that the CARM's Department of Culture should move to Cartagena, in a gesture of decentralization that never comes despite the arguments are more than enough," concluded Borgoñós.

Also other proposals such as the First Festival of Historic Theater of Cartagena that took place during 2016, promoted from the management area of ​​Ricardo Segado, in collaboration with the Center for Dramatization of History (CCDH).
