The Semifinals of the 2017 Saetas National Contest of Cartagena arrive this week at the House of Folklore of the Folkloric Group City of Cartagena in La Palma, where on Friday, February 10, and Saturday, day 11, singers will compete to move to the Final, which will take place on 25 March.
Thus, the jury of the Contest has selected the singers who will participate in this phase of the semifinals, so that on Friday, at 9.30 pm, act María Dolores Diaz, Cartagena;
Miriam Cantero, from Cáceres;
María José Flores, from Seville;
Monserrat Pérez, from Almería;
Francisco Campos, of Cartagena;
Araceli Campillos, from Córdoba;
And Triana de los Angeles Perez, of Seville.
On the other hand, on Saturday, also at 21.30 hours, will play the turn of the interpretations of Juan Francisco Berrocal, Cadiz;
José Manuel González, from Chiclana;
Pepi Mantas, from Córdoba;
Manuela Pérez, from Huelva;
Sebastián Navas, from Fuengirola;
Nazareth Marcos, from Granada;
Isabel Fatima Guerrero, from Seville;
Joaquín Muñoz, from Córdoba;
And María del Rosario Serrano, from Seville.
The selected will go to the final, which will take place on March 25 in the Church of Santa Maria de Gracia, where the winner of the current edition of the contest will be decided, which will receive an economic endowment and an original sculpture, created for the occasion by The Carthaginian sculptor Fernando Sáenz Elorrieta.
The previous editions were for cantaores Juan Fariña, from Huelva, who won in 2014;
Miguel Ángel Lara Solano 'El Canario', from El Saucejo (Seville), in 2015;
And Ana García Caro, from Huelva, in 2016.
The contest is organized by the Association of Portapasos de la Piedad and the Marraja Brotherhood, with the collaboration of the City Council of Cartagena, the Ministry of Culture, the folkloric group 'Ciudad de Cartagena' La Palma, the UCAM and the Our Father Jesus Groups Nazarene, Virgen de la Piedad, Portapasos of the Dolorosa and Veronica
