The mayor of Cartagena, José López, received today at the Consistorial Palace the representatives of the Canonical Association Cristo de la Divina Misericordia, a meeting in which the president of said entity, Francisco Cánovas, explained to the first mayor The work they carry out throughout the year, as well as the route that they carry out during the Viacrucis parade of the Friday of Dolores.
Taking advantage of the visit, Cánovas has delivered to the mayor a book that gathers the history and highlights of the Association throughout its years of existence.
For his part, José López has highlighted the work of the Canonical Association and expressed his gratitude for the book received "to know a little more of this historic religious entity of our city."
Viacrucis on Friday of Dolores
The Canonical Association Christ of the Divine Mercy, which currently has more than five hundred brothers, performs each year its Viacrucis parade through the streets of downtown Cartagena on the afternoon of Friday Dolores.
Thus, from its chapel, located in the Plaza de la Merced, the image of the Christ crosses the main roads carrying out the prayer of the Viacrucis accompanied by the carvings of St. John the Evangelist and the Virgin of the Forsaken, as well as the hundreds of Faithful that march to the sound of music and drums
