This morning, the mayor of Cartagena, José López, accompanied by the councilman of Sports, Ricardo Segado, has held a meeting with representatives of the Cartagena Excursion Center (CExCartagena).
On the part of the sports club have come the president, Salvador English;
The vice-president, Francisco Javier Espinosa and the vocal of mountain races, Antonio Egea.
During the meeting, held in the administrative building of San Miguel, the representatives of the Excursion Center have explained in detail the activities carried out by the club, as well as the highlights of its history.
Similarly, different issues have been addressed such as the possibility of changing the location of the club's headquarters, which is currently in New Cartagena, as well as the option of creating a climbing wall in the Palacio de Deportes and locating the exit and Goal of the Cartagena Trail test next to this sports facility.
In this sense, López and Segado have shown the availability of the municipal government to collaborate in all those issues that represent an improvement for the Hiking Center, "a club that performs a great work in the promotion of physical activity, demonstrating a great professionalism in each One of the activities they develop, such as the Cartagena Trail, a test in which they combine sport and coexistence, "said the first mayor.
For his part, the Councilor for Sports has thanked the willingness of the club's board "to collaborate in all that has been requested," and encouraged them to continue their "good work."
REMEMBERING THE CARTHAGINENSES GAMES 1971
The representatives of the Hiker Center have delivered to Lopez and Segado a picture of the Carthaginian Games of 1971, year in which this sport competition was celebrating its fourth edition.
It should be remembered that the Carthaginian Games were held between 1967 and 1972, being very popular among the Carthaginians, reaching even in its last edition with the participation of more than three thousand athletes from all over Spain and distributed in thirty sports.
A CENTER FOR ALL THE AFFECTIONS
The Centro Excursionista de Cartagena is a sports entity based in Avenida Nueva Cartagena, 64 under 1 (Urbanización Mediterráneo, Cartagena).
It is declared a club open to all, with a great variety of activities that complement all tastes and publics (hiking, mountain climbing, mountain biking, climbing, caving, mountain racing and paragliding).
In each of the scheduled activities the levels of physical and technical exigency vary according to the activity.
Likewise, it indicates if this activity is open to the whole world or if it is exclusively for partners, as well as the need to be federated or not (aspect that is recommended).
