ECOEMBES and the City of Cartagena, through the Department of Urbanism and Infrastructures, have launched, since last January 23, an information campaign aimed at citizens, seeking greater commitment and participation with the system of selective collection .

In Cartagena there are 1,367 yellow containers (one container per 158 inhabitants, while Ecoembes requires a minimum of 1 container per 480 inhabitants in a semi-urban area and 1 container per 330 inhabitants in a rural area).
The new communication campaign aims to counteract the efforts made by the municipality and ECOEMBES to contain and compensate the results obtained, counteracting the excuses used by the population not to recycle: lack of containers, lack of space in the homes, Uselessness of the recycling system, low impact, etc.
