Cartagena City Council, through the Cartagena 2 Social Services Center, the Abraham Project and the Cepaim Foundation, with funding from the IMAS, will continue to promote during this 2017 the Social Action Program that began last 2015 in the Barriada Of Villalba, whose title is 'Villalba, a neighborhood in movement!'

And is framed within the framework of the Gypsy Development Plan.

Since its inception, the development of the various actions contemplated in this plan have provided important advances at the social and community level, among which the organization of youth and women working groups on neighborhood participation and planning and Development of community actions, development of actions with children aimed at improving their academic performance, or the development of a program of leisure and leisure activities with minors.

Thus, this program launched by the City of Cartagena has developed training actions that have targeted young people and women, including the promotion of social skills and the management of new technologies and Internet applied to the active search for employment , As well as other pre-employment activities, which have made it possible, on the one hand, that about 30 young people from the neighborhood are trained at the practical level as professionals in the area of ​​cleaning of infrastructure or in the hotel sector, Which to date, a dozen young people have accessed the world of work through a contract of employment.

In addition, for the edition that begins, it contemplates several thematic axes, that come to complement and to extend the lines of work begun in previous editions.

Thus, the program includes the Individual Itineraries of Personal and Social Promotion of Young people, with which it will continue to deepen in improving the personal conditions of young people of the neighborhood, with a view to their personal promotion;

And Pre-Work Group Formative Actions, in which the participants will work with a process of theoretical and practical training oriented to employment.

There will also be actions of neighborhood participation and community dynamism and will have as a priority objective to continue advancing in the empowerment of key neighborhood groups in the neighborhood, fostering their commitment and involvement in community life;

Classes of school support and artistic workshops to improve the school performance of the children, motivate them to learn, train them in new technologies and facilitate a healthy snack;

And workshops for fathers and mothers aimed at expanding their training to facilitate an optimal development in the growth of their children.

Also, inclusion in the educational community will be promoted, guiding and accompanying the participants, and actions will be taken to promote women through personalized itineraries to improve personal and social skills.

In this way, the project goes beyond the repercussion that it will have on the neighbors directly involved, since it represents an important advance in the articulation of measures oriented to coexistence and social cohesion in this neighborhood of the municipality of Cartagena.
