The Association of Friends of the Zarzuela will represent next February 4 in the Auditorium El Batel the zarzuela 'La Tempranica', written by Julián Romea.
The presentation was made this morning at the Consistorial Palace, and in it the Councilor for Culture, David Martinez, accompanied the president of the association, Rafael Bueno, and the member of the same, Jose Maria Vázquez.
The 50 members of the association that make up the lyrical picture, will be responsible for giving life on stage to this zarzuela that premiered in September 1900, and has some passages as well known as the song 'The Tarantula'.
The work is written in prose, divided into three acts, 'and is depicted with a very funny gypsy deje, which will like a lot', added Good in his explanation of it.
The story tells the love between a young gypsy woman known as 'La Tempranica', and two men, Miguel, his fiancé, and Señorito Don Luis, whom he is also in love with.
The councilman has indicated the guarantee of a good show that supposes that the singers and actors carry to their backs more than 200 works represented, but besides the experience, the president of the association has that this work has taken many months of preparation, as much Of essays and costumes, so he hopes "that all who attend will enjoy" in the same way that they have enjoyed with the essays.
For his part, Martinez also thanked the work of Friends of the Zarzuela and "if this genre is still alive is thanks to associations like this that allow you not to miss this genre so castizo."
He also wanted "to fill the Batel, to enjoy all this magnificent work and sing those songs that many of us know to hear our grandparents and the zarzuela live in a city as fond of music as Cartagena ".
