Last Saturday the community health days of Cartagena were presented with various family activities in the square of San Francisco, as workshops or live music through a percussion group, to make them known and encouraged people to participate in them .
In the official presentation to the media, which took place in the Graduate Schools, participated the Councilor of Social Services of the City of Cartagena, Maria del Carmen Martín Del Amor;
The deputy director of the II-Cartagena Health Area, María José Alonso;
The director of Fundación Cepaim, Juan Antonio Segura, and José Sánchez, representing the "la Caixa" Obra Social.
These days are an initiative born of the commitment of the public administrations to improve health actions with the contribution of professionals from public institutions, social entities and citizens involved in this process.
"With these community activities is intended to promote healthy life through the implementation of a series of leisure activities, always aimed at the proliferation of good habits.
That is why we invite the Cartagena people to participate, "and" involved as a co-responsible part of their own health, "said the Councilor for Social Services.
For its part, the director of Fundación Cepaim, emphasized the progress this entails for social cohesion in terms of professional resources in neighborhoods with high population diversity.
"Moving forward in a proposal for community intervention, helps us not to duplicate efforts and to work including the population, as co-responsible part of their own health."
The different activities will be carried out and will focus on the Historical Center and the Station Sector, which are presented under the motto "Begin the year with health", promoted by the City Council of Cartagena, the Obra Social la Caixa and Cepaim. Include tale therapy: stories to heal, sexual and reproductive health talks, healthy leisure workshop and drug prevention through stories, among other activities.
The project also includes the Health Area II-Cartagena, Casco Health Center, La Huertecica Collective, SODICAR- Diabetes Society of Cartagena and Comarca, ORPEA Residence and Cartagena Day Center, Marraja NP Jesús Nazareno Foundation, Regional Museum of Modern Art - MURAM, Sacred Heart of Jesus College and the Isidorian Foundation.
PROJECT OF INTERCULTURAL COMMUNITY INTERVENTION (ICI)
These days are part of the Intercultural Community Intervention Project, promoted by "la Caixa" Obra Social in 39 neighborhoods of Spain in collaboration with different administrations and social entities, is a social action initiative with a preventive orientation and that fosters relationships Intercultural, fosters social cohesion and seeks the empowerment of society for coexistence and community development.
In Cartagena, the Project takes place from July 2014.
