Works in verse or prose can already be presented to the second edition of the Literary Journals of San Ginés de la Jara.
A contest that recovered last year the Brotherhood of San Ginés de la Jara with the support of His Excellency.

In the presentation that took place this morning in the Hall of Consistorial have participated the councilor of Transparency, Maria Jose Soler, the Brother Major of the Brotherhood of San Ginés de la Jara, Victor Javier Navarro, the vice-rector of the UPCT, Sergio Amat and the marketing director of Practiser, Pedro González.
The event seeks to promote the written production of works on themes of cultural and social interest around Cartagena and the patron saint of the city, San Ginés de la Jara.
An event that joins the 10th anniversary of the re-foundation of the brotherhood and the centenary of its original foundation by Luis Angosto Lapizburu.
In his speech, Soler emphasized the importance of this literary contest as a platform to "maintain and recover the traditions and culture of Cartagena [...] and project an image of identity".
For his part Navarro said that this year's event focuses on the sea, Cabo de Palos, with whose brotherhood have recently twinned, and the Navy.
He also indicated as a novelty, recovered from the Literary Rights already held between 1969 and 1975, the inclusion this year of the figure of the maintainer, a crier for the contest.
The people who want to participate can present their works in the modalities of poetry, with free themes although they will value those that deal with the sea, the sailors, Cartagena or San Ginés;
And prose, which will deal with issues related to San Ginés de la Jara, Cabo de Palos, the Spanish Navy and / or Cartagena.
The extension of the works in verse will be from 45 to 90 verses and the works in prose must have between 3 and 6 sheets that can be presented until next March 18 to the email address sanginesdelajaracartagena@gmail.com.
Regarding the prizes, the contest maintains the "capacity" of the fruits of the Campo de Cartagena that already occurred in the editions from 1969 to 1975. In total there will be three licenses in both categories consisting of lots of products and services.
The first one consists of a two-day stay in an apartment for 4 people in the Mar Menor, a "capacico" of fruits of the Cartagena countryside, a lot of books, a batch of Byzantine beer products, a visit to a Cartagena de Palos, a baptism of diving in Cabo de Palos, a lot of Asian Café products, a lithograph of the Roman Theater, a visit to the Military Arsenal of Cartagena and a ship, a physiotherapy session, a Entrance for two people to visit all the museums of Cartagena Port of Cultures, a badge of San Ginés de la Jara and diploma.
The presentation was also attended by one of the winners of the last edition, Ana Rey, who competed in the contest with works mainly from Spain, but also participated in works from the United States, Cuba and Costa Rica.
