The work that the delegation of Cartagena is developing at the International Tourism Fair in Oslo has already begun to bear fruit.
From February, there are already planned excursions to Cartagena of Nordic who live part of the year in the Valencian Community.
The meeting of the Deputy Mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, with the President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, last November, has facilitated the chain of contacts that have been established within the fair, in which the Valencian Community has booth own.
Castejón emphasized that "the colony of foreigners, not only Nordic, who resides part of the year in the province of Alicante constitutes a very attractive potential market for our municipality. In fact, in the fair are present Norwegian schools installed in localities Alicante, Den Norske Skolen i Rojales, which has almost 200 students and whose director has explained that they are very interested in cultural tourism in Cartagena.
CARTAGENA AND TORREVIEJA AGREE TO COORDINATE ITS TOURIST OFFERS
The Deputy Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Deputy Mayor and Mayor of Torrevieja, Fanny Serrano, have met at the Reiselivsmessen Tourism Fair that is being held these days in Oslo, and have agreed to coordinate their tourism offer.
These municipalities are less than an hour away and offer quality tourist products that are complementary to each other.
While Cartagena has eight museums and archaeological sites, including the Roman Forum and Theater, almost 50% of the territory of Torrevieja is a natural heritage, highlighting the Parque de las Lagunas de la Mata, virtually unknown.
With this agreement, the offices of Tourism of both municipalities will have precise tourist information to be able to organize excursions in a coordinated way.
