The Logistics Activities Area (ZAL) of Cartagena has continued this morning with the second meeting to advance in the creation of this infrastructure.
The mayor of Cartagena, José López, the Minister of Development and Infrastructures, Pedro Rivera, the Minister of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, Juán Hernández, participated in the meeting, which took place in the Palacio de Aguirre. The meeting discussed the planning of the work to be carried out by the consultant company responsible for drafting the ZAL Feasibility Study, which will consist of the implementation of six stages to determine the characteristics, location and feasibility analysis of the logistics infrastructure .
The study will have a writing period of six months and has a budget of just over 100,000 euros.
The mayor of Cartagena has indicated the importance of this meeting that serves to advance in the creation of a "necessary and viable" infrastructure.
Some words from a 2003 State Land Entity (SEPES) report, which already indicated that "Cartagena presents optimum conditions for the four modes of transport in the Region", the need for a ZAL to develop the full commercial potential And logistic activities of the port of Cartagena, and this morning the first mayor became his own.
López emphasized the importance of this meeting and requested that it be soon a reality.
To this end, the city council is already taking steps to achieve land for the ZAL through a debt of SEPES with the city council of just over four and a half million euros, which the council wants to be effective through the Assignment of land by the state body.

A market study will be carried out in the region of Cartagena, where logistics chains and transport flows will be analyzed to make future projections of goods traffic.

In the following phases, the economic and financial viability of the infrastructure will be analyzed and the promotion and management model of the Cartagena ZAR will be designed.
COMPATIBILITY OF ZAL DE MURCIA AND LA CARTAGENA
