Cartagena hosted during the first week of January the Christmas clinic Febamur and the Concentration 'Look for champion' and UniRM thanks to the collaboration of the City of Cartagena with the Badminton Club of the city and the Badminton Federation of the Region ( FEBAMUR).
In both events the expectations of participation were exceeded, and in them the young players of the Region could improve their technical skills in this sport that gains in popularity.
Between January 3 and 5 was held the I Clinic Christmas FEBAMUR, which took place between the municipal pavilions of Canteras and the IES Jiménez de la Espada.
A total of 17 players participated in the Youth Hostel in Canteras, and were able to enjoy 2 days of intense training in which they honed their skills with 5 specialized monitors.
In addition players from all over the region had the opportunity to know Cartagena better and its main buildings and museums between session and training session.
That same week, on January 7, was held in the pavilion Jiménez de la Espada II Concentration 'Look for Champion' and 'UniRM'.
The first one aimed at players under 13 years old and which involved about 20 kids from 6 clubs in the Region.
The youngsters of Badminton Club Cartagena, Badminton Judesa Club, Badminton Molina Club, Badminton Club C.Totana, Badminton Club Las Torres and Club Badminton San Pedro, carried out a recreational training in which they were able to develop different technical and tactical aspects of this sport and Learned new blows.
On the other hand the UniRM concentration was destined to the members of the selections Sub 15, Sub 17 and Sub 19 of the Region.
In total there were 30 participants, who had 5 coaches with whom they learned and especially enjoyed a day of coexistence, important for the different categories.
THE BADMINTON CLUB CARTAGENA COMES LOADED OF MEDALS OF THE CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT LAS TORRES
On the other hand, on Sunday, January 8, the first Las Torres Christmas Tournament took place.
A friendly tournament planned for December that due to heavy rains had to be postponed.
In this way it became the first test of the year for the Badminton Cartagena Club players after the Christmas break.
They played singles and doubles in the categories Sub13, Sub 17, Absolute, and veterans +30, +40 and +50.
All participants received a commemorative T-shirt courtesy of Club Las Torres, organizer of the event.
The Cartagena Badminton Club won the victories ofAitana Romero in individual female sub13, Nikita Nikitin in individual male under 13, double sub 13 also for the pair formed by Aitana and Nikita.
In the absolute category Andrea Hernandez and Pablo Caparrós got a second place in doubles, while Pablo Caparrós rose with the victory in individual men and Maria del Lluch the second place in individual women in the individual category +30 Niko Nikitin would get a meritorious second place
