The Council of Decentralization, directed by Councilman Juan Pedro Torralba, has executed 355 minor contracts this year for 569,000 euros to improve the infrastructure and services of the neighborhoods and councils.
Among the recent works that have been awarded include the replacement of sidewalks in the Avenida Colón de Los Urrutias;
The supply of urban furniture for the neighborhood meetings of El Algar, El Albujón-Miranda, Alumbres and Isla Plana-La Azohía;
The provision of signage and road safety mirrors, wastebaskets, fences, and benches, among other infrastructures;
The adaptation of social premises in Los Puertos de Santa Bárbara and Molinos Marfagones;
And supplies of children's games in El Llano del Beal, among others.
They are not pharaonic works but they are practical and useful to improve the day to day of our neighbors, which is what we are after, highlights the Councilor for Decentralization, Juan Pedro Torralba.
Among these works has also highlighted the recovery of public parks and spaces that could not be used by neighbors because of their poor condition.
Our job is to listen to the proposals of our neighbors and attend them, and so we will continue, Torralba has pointed out.
On the other hand, the mayor has supervised the good progress of the patching and asphalting works of the more than forty streets of El Algar, Los Belones, Molinos Marfagones, Barrio Peral, Los Dolores, Alumbres and El Llano, among others. Are being carried out thanks to the joint work with the neighborhood meetings.
The contract for these works allowed us to save about 14 percent over the originally planned budget.
Our objective, which we will maintain in view of 2017, is to unify the actions with the neighborhood meetings to favor the greatest possible number of works, lowering costs, stressed the mayor.
