A total of 58 schoolchildren from the municipality of Cartagena, aged between 6 and 12 years, will enjoy today, December 27, the Christmas Schools organized by the Department of Education for the period of the Christmas holidays.
These are urban holiday colonies where the coexistence and socialization among the participants is promoted in a playful way and with clearly educational objectives, through various activities such as crafts and theater, all under the Christmas theme.
The Councilor for Education of the City of Cartagena, David Martínez, visited today the CEIP Concepción Arenal to verify the implementation of the Schools of Christmas to be held on 28, 29 and 30 December and 3, 4 and January 5, that is, the working days of this Christmas.
As highlighted by Martinez, the Christmas Schools contribute to improving the reconciliation of work and family life in vacation times, making the working time of adults compatible with that of the children in their care.
Like last year we have continued with the Christmas Schools because for working parents it is important that they can leave their sons and daughters in a playful space where they are with other companions, and so they can work normally, there are Commented the mayor.
These schools tend to have less demand in the Christmas season than in summer and for next year, as noted by the Councilor for Education, is studying the possibility of opening one more in the downtown area, because the Ensanche is The one that has the most demand.

This activity is completely free and are made, after being awarded in a public competition, by the company A'Kidsclub Cartagena dedicated to leisure and free time for schoolchildren.

SCHOOL S SCHEDULE OF CHRISTMAS
The schedule will be from 09:00 to 14:00 hours and the Concepción Arenal and Vicente Medina centers will have extended schedule or kangaroo classroom both at the beginning and at the end of the activity.
In both centers the parents who need it and request it, can leave the children before 09:00 hours (8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.) and pick them up after 2:00 p.m. (enter 2:00 p.m. - 15:00 hours), thus facilitating the incorporation or exit of the work of parents who need it.
