Researchers at the School of Architecture and Building of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) today presented a guide to the architectural heritage of Cartagena.
"The city lacked a bibliographic resource of these characteristics", emphasizes the person responsible for its edition and revision, José Laborda Yneva.
"Reason enough to carry out the editing of this analytical inventory," he adds.
The guide covers from ancient times to contemporary times.
"This guide, whose objective is informative, was born with the objective of analyzing and disseminating the Architectural Heritage of Cartagena so that the best architecture of the city can be known in the whole by all: who inhabit it, who visit it and who They pretend to know it from other places ", explains the researcher.
The publication, made by the UPCT and the Cajamurcia Foundation provides a new way of getting to know Cartagena.
"Their buildings will stop being considered as independent elements of their environment to become part of a specific temporary cast."
Each chapter of the guide has a map of the buildings that correspond to its time.
"It will be possible to see the Architectural Heritage of the city as a whole and in detail," concluded Laborda.
The presentation was attended by the Rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Díaz Morcillo, the president of the Cajamurcia Foundation, the Councilor of Transparency, María José Soler, and the researchers of the project.
The co-authors of the study studied the Master in Architectural Heritage of the UPCT.
