Today, together with the City Council of Cartagena, the Community has set up the Technical Working Committee to collaborate and resolve as quickly as possible the doubts and questions that arise in the processing of the General Municipal Plan of Urban Planning.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructures, Pedro Rivera, stressed that "it is a question of collaborating with the City of Cartagena to jointly determine the road map that allows setting the most appropriate route for the processing of the General Plan of Cartagena, following the ruling of the Court Supreme of this year that annulled it ".
The current situation of the General Plan "requires the necessary coordination of the administrations involved to provide greater legal certainty and take the necessary measures so that the economic growth of Cartagena is not diminished by the uncertainty of the general plan," he said.
He stressed that the general plans "are key and fundamental instruments for planning the development and growth of the Region", so "we can not wait another minute for Cartagena to have its General Plan that will allow us to realize its full potential and undertake a Path of unstoppable growth ".
This commission, created at the request of the regional government, "is further proof of the commitment of the president of the Autonomous Community, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, with the progress and development of the city of Cartagena."
The counselor recalled that "we have provided collaboration from the outset to the technicians of the City Council, holding various meetings, but it is necessary and very convenient to create this commission to address the current status of the Plan and anticipate any question that may arise."
The meeting, which was held today at the Palacio de Aguirre in Cartagena, was presided over by the regional government by the secretary general of the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure, Yolanda Muñoz, and by the City Council by the mayor of Cartagena, José López.
The director general of Quality and Environmental Assessment, Encarna Molina, the director general of Territory Planning, Architecture and Housing, Nuria Fuentes, and municipal technical managers of this area also participated.
The commission is made up of technical staff specialized in urban planning, urban planning and the environment of the Community and the City of Cartagena, who will work in a coordinated way to achieve maximum legal certainty, especially in aspects related to these matters.
The first meeting of this commission will be held this December in the city of Cartagena.
