The City Council of Cartagena, through the Department of Social Services and Social Mediation, has signed collaboration agreements with seven Cartagena NGOs for the financing of International Cooperation projects in countries included in the report of the United Nations Program for Development (UNDP) as Low Human Development Index countries, according to the 2015 classification.
The Human Development Index (HDI) is an indicator of the average achievements in the fundamental dimensions of human development, such as having a long and healthy life, acquiring knowledge and enjoying a decent standard of living.
€ 80,000 has been earmarked for the implementation of seven projects on the African continent in Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Senegal and Madagascar.
