The Working Committee on Urgent Measures of the Night Pact meeting met this morning, Tuesday, December 20, to put on the table the proposals made by young people, representatives of political groups and entities, in the Round table that was held in the day yesterday on the youthful nightlife in the city facing the Christmas season.

The main proposal of these young people is the provision of a leisure space in the camp of Carthaginians and Romans, with an access control so that they can not enter under 18 years, and civil protection devices and local police.

The commission, held in the Administrative Building of San Miguel, was chaired by the Councilor of Festejos, Juan Pedro Torralba, with the presence of Councilor for Citizen Security, Francisco Aznar, the Councilor for Transparency, Maria Jose Soler, municipal technicians, members Of the Local Police, HOSTECAR, youth representatives of the municipal political groups as well as some members of the same ones like Ana Rama, Teresa Sánchez and Carolina Palazón.

After listening to the proposals of the young people, the mayor of Festejos has determined to assess the proposed areas to try to make them available to face these dates and do everything possible to facilitate this meeting space for young people.

For this reason, on Wednesday, December 21, they will start to visualize the space to see if it meets the conditions and try to prepare it, accompanying it with the necessary security and infrastructure.

The idea is for this space to be used only on designated dates of greater concentration of young people, such as Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve or Kings, in other events such as May, Carnival or Halloween Crossings, where they need a place to meet.

In addition, it is intended to create a cultural and sports space, for which work will be done from the Table of the Night Pact to make a plan of activities from the different councils to perform during the weekends.

We will work to do our best and that the young people are in a good place.

The City Council is going to work so that everything comes out in a controlled way, said Torralba.
