Between Strings and Metals has made known the quality and the talent of numerous musicians nouveau throughout its twenty years of trajectory.
To celebrate this remarkable date, an extraordinary concert will bring together former winners who have enjoyed numerous successes throughout their musical careers.
The Department of Youth and the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena, together with the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena, have organized this concert to be held in the auditorium El Batel on December 29 at 8 pm.
The entrance will be free until the capacity is completed.
The Councilor for Youth, Ricardo Segado, was in charge of publicizing all the details of this concert today, December 16, at the Palace Hall.
The mayor has been accompanied by Pedro Martinez representing the Conservatory and the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena, and guitarist Paola Requena.
Segado has highlighted the relevance of this contest since it has contributed successfully to the discovery of young talents of music, who, today, develop an important musical career in and outside our country.
Also, according to the mayor, has served as an instrument for the promotion of classical music among the young, which has resulted in the appearance of numerous projects initiated in recent years following the launch of the contest.
For the realization of this symphonic concert, the Chamber Orchestra will meet an exceptional orchestral training expanding its workforce.
In front of it will be the Cartagena director of international stature, Pedro Beriso, was awarded in Entre Cuerdas and Metales in the seventh edition of the year 2004 in the modality of piano and at the moment it compagina the direction of orchestra with its work of pianist and contratenor.
Other names such as guitarist Paola Requena and composer Mateo Soto, who will premiere his work Overture during the concert, will complete this unique orchestral formation that will include, among others, one of the best known symphonic works of classical music : The Fifth Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven.
As a finishing touch, Paola Requena, winner of the first prize of the fifth edition of the contest in 2001, delighted those present with a magnificent interpretation of a passage from the Concert of Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo.
