Chernobyl is the title of the photographic exhibition that opened on Wednesday, December 14, in the UNED building in Cartagena, and is organized by the Solidarity Families Association with the Belarusian People.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Councilor of the Office and Transparency Portal, María José Soler, along with the general coordinator of Archaeological Heritage, Mari Carmen Berrocal.
The photographic exhibition can be visited until December 20 and aims to raise awareness of the effects that still continue to suffer thousands of people as a result of the nuclear accident in Chernobyl, the year in which marks the 30th anniversary of one of the major environmental disasters of the planet.
The municipal government has always shown the institutional support to the association 'Solidary Families with the Belarusian People', who promote, among other initiatives, that children from that country are welcomed, during the months of July and August, by families from the Region of Cartagena, representing an enriching experience for both hosts and visitors.
