The music of Johann Sebastian Bach, considered by many as the best composer of all time, will reach all corners of the city thanks to the Bach Cartagena program, organized by the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena and the platform Early Music Project .
In this way the music of the German composer will be made known through concerts, conferences, workshops and participatory activities aimed at the whole family.
The Consistorial Palace has welcomed today, December 13, the presentation of this varied program by the councilman of Culture, David Martinez.
The mayor has been accompanied by the representative of the platform Early Music Project, Miriam Huescar.
David Martinez stressed that the activities of Bach Cartagena will begin next Friday, December 16, in the Aula de Cultura of the CAM and will continue with different concerts and didactic activities for children in the Hall and CEIP The Watchtower.
According to the mayor of Culture is a pilot program as the activities will be extended over the next year to celebrate the Year of Enlightenment, a time that Bach lived very closely and for that reason his music is closely connected with The triumph of Reason.
Miriam Huescar has commented that with this program Cartagena joins a large number of European cities and capitals that already celebrate their own festivals, theme weeks, academies and participatory cantatas around the figure of this great German composer.
Bach Cartagena has been made possible thanks to the collaboration and joint work of a large number of cultural entities and agents in the city and throughout the Region of Murcia, such as the Ministry of Culture and Portavocía, the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Mare Nostrum Campus, the University of Murcia, the ISEN Center, the UNED, the Conservatory of Music of Murcia and the Professional Conservatory of Music of Cartagena.
ACTIVITIES PROGRAMMING CHRISTMAS BACH CARTAGENA
The activities will begin on Friday, December 16, with the presentation of the program and a concert under the name The Historical Instruments and the music of Johann Sebastian Bach in charge of Pretérito Imperfecto in the Cultural Hall of the CAM of Cartagena at 20:00 hours.
They will continue on Saturday, December 17 with the activity Bach & Kids, which will consist of a children's concert to know The Baroque Instruments, performed by Prefect Imperfect in the Palace of Cartagena in two passes at 12:00 and 13:00 hours .
In this same enclave will take place on Sunday, December 18, another activity of Bach & Kids, on the Sounds of Christmas together with the vocal group La Cantoría and its director Jorge Losana with works of Christmas theme from the Middle Ages to the Baroque, In two passes at 12:00 and 13:00 hours.
Finally, on Monday, December 19th, at 12:00 and at 13:00 hours, this same concert of La Cantoría will be offered for the students of CEIP Atalaya de Cartagena.
All these activities will be free.
