A quarter of a century after the burning of the Regional Assembly on February 3, 1992, a book entitled Cartaga en Llamas reflects the socio-political situation of the city and the events that triggered these events.
The mayor of Cartagena, José López, received a copy of the book from the hand of its author José Ibarra Bastida Monday, December 12, at the Palace Hall.
The first mayor described the book as absolutely transcendental and invited the Cartagena to attend the presentation and buy the book to know the truth of what happened from the point of view of those who suffered and the citizens who We join the just demands of the workers.
For its part, the author of the book has emphasized that the work makes a review by the visicitudes of the second industrial reconversion of the nineties in which about 15,000 jobs were lost in the region of Cartagena.
According to José Ibarra, his book completes other previous work because it comes to give a view of the facts from the point of view of the workers.
Finally, the author highlighted the solidarity and union of all citizens and workers, as well as Bazán, the fertilizer companies, Peñarroya and almost all industrial sectors that were affected.
The book Cartagena en Llamas, will be presented on Thursday, December 15, at 7:30 pm in the cultural center of CajaMurcia and will be attended by the mayor of Cartagena, José López.
