At a pace of pasodoble was celebrated yesterday Sunday, December 11, the 50 years since the Plaza of the King was inaugurated the monument to the master Álvarez Alonso, who composed in Cartagena the famous pasodoble Suspiros de España, work that was officially released with reason Of the festival of the Corpus of the year 1902.
To commemorate this event, numerous citizens gathered in the square to enjoy an act homenajedonde the Band of the Marine Corps, linked to the history of the city since the nineteenth century, played several pieces composed in Cartagena.
The event was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, José López, and the official chronicler, Juan Ignacio Ferrández, who dedicated a few words to the audience, as well as the ediles Ricardo Segado and David Martínez, and the official chronicler Luis Miguel Perez Adán, As well as representatives of other municipal groups such as Ana Rama and Álvaro Valdés.
