José Ãngel Palao with the itinerant exhibition of the 28th international photography contest "Iron roads" in Cartagena (11/12/2016)

The itinerant exhibition 2016/2017 of the 28th edition of the international photography competition "Caminos de Hierro", after being initially scheduled to take place at the Murcia del Carmen station, will stop at the Adif railway station in Cartagena, and it will be possible to visit From December 21 to January 16, 2017.

The exhibition, a heterogeneous collection of the world of the railway where the avant-garde photographic creative tendencies are present, is composed of 43 original works in paper from Spain, France, the United States, Russia, Italy and the United Kingdom, and 136 digital from Spain, Germany , Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, the United States, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland and Venezuela, selected among the 5,045 photographs submitted by 2,183 authors from 46 countries that have participated in this edition.

Among the 43 original photographs exhibited to the public on paper, and which form part of the prestigious official catalog of the contest (extended by Ouka Leele, National Photography Prize 2005), is the one of the selected photographer Jose Angel Palao and, among the 136 Digital images displayed in a virtual way, you can see those of the preselected photographers José Carlos Ñíguez Carbonell of Cartagena itself, and José Inchaurrandieta Ramallo of Murcia.

Following its inauguration on April 28 at the Fernán Núñez Palace in Madrid (headquarters of the Spanish Railways Foundation), and in cities such as Mérida, Valladolid, Santander, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Gerona and Valencia, the exhibition will continue its march through the peninsular geography by making stops at the railway stations of Granada, Cadiz, Ciudad Real, Cáceres, Salamanca, Pontevedra, Oviedo, Logroño, Barcelona-Estació de França, and finally again in Madrid From December 14, 2017 to January 8, 2018, where the exhibition will be closed at the Chamartín Station.

The itinerant exhibition of the biennial competition, whose first prize went to the Russian photographer based in Moscow Nataliya Kharlamova, is made in collaboration with Adif (Administrator of Railway Infrastructures), and is part of its actions of Corporate Social Responsibility through the Program Open Station.
