The importance of the problem of gender discrimination in education is beyond question.
Whether for reasons of sex, religion or tradition, many girls, adolescents and adult women find these difficulties preventing them from developing an active role in society, developing their academic and professional life, and exercising their right to equal opportunities.
In many cases, these people are persecuted, punished and even murdered for trying to access the right to education.
According to UNICEF, 66% of people who can not read or write are women.
