It consisted of establishing a forest of 1.3 hectares of Tetraclinis articulata
About 2,000 seedlings of diverse species that conform this habitat of community interest were planted
Some 70 volunteers participated last Saturday in an activity on LIFE + Tetraclinis Europa, financed by European Union funds, which consisted of planting various species of the community interest of the cypress of Cartagena or Sabina mora (Tetraclinis articulata) in Calblanque .
The activity, organized by the Association of Naturalists of the Southeast (ANSE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment, was sponsored by Gas Natural Fenosa.
It was developed in old private cultivation lands acquired by the company Supersano to destine them to the recovery of the native flora, by virtue of an agreement of custody of the territory established with ANSE.
These plantations were planned for the whole weekend, although the rain forced to suspend the ones of the Sunday.
About 2,000 seedlings were placed on 1.3 hectares of land of various species that make up the habitat of community interest called 'Bosques de Tetraclinis articulata'.
The necessary care is provided to ensure the survival of seedlings.
In addition to the cypress of Cartagena or Sabina mora (Tetraclinis articulata), other species were planted as lentiscos (Pistacia lentiscus), aladierno (Rhamnus alaternus), acebuches (Olea europaea), palms (Chamaerops humilis), artos (Maytenus senegalensis), cornicales Periploca angustifolia), even small-sized seedlings such as various species of rock, rosemary and lavender, among others, were included in order to recreate as closely as possible an indigenous forest.
In the activity participated the Association Calblanque, the Ecocultural of the Alcázares, Arba Cartagena and the Regional Park of Calblanque.
