The Auditorium and Congress Center The Batel de Cartagena hosted the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of Cartagena (FICC) on Saturday night, December 3, in which the prizes corresponding to its 45th edition were presented.
The gala was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, José López, who awarded the Cartagena Carabela Prize City of Cartagena to Best Short Film to Juanjo Giménez by Timecode, in addition to the ediles Ricardo Segado, Obdulia Gómez and David Martinez, as well as the president Of the Regional Assembly, Rosa Peñalver.
Regarding recognition, the Murcia actress Pepa Aniorte received the FICC_45 prize, an award that aims to highlight the work that the people of the Region of Murcia performs within the world of cinema.
At the time of collecting her prize, the actress was accompanied by Cartagena director Miguel Alcantud, FICC_44 award, which has led her on several occasions.
In the Official Short Film Section, the following prizes were awarded:
- Carabela Silver Award 'City of Cartagena' to the Best Short Film, endowed with € 3,000, to "Timecode", by Juanjo Giménez
- Peral Submarine Award for Best Director to David González Rudíez for "5 seconds"
- Peral Submarine Award for Best Screenplay for Boris Kozlov for "The postmodern pioneer plaque".
- Pear Submarine Award for Best Photography by Guillem Oliver for "Sputnik"
The list of winners in the Murcine Section was as follows:
- First Silver Carabela Prize 'City of Cartagena', endowed with € 1,500, to José Manuel Carrasco for "Life in MarteI".
- Second Prize Murcine Submarino Peral, endowed with 500 €, for Jesús Martínez Díaz for "The airplane".
For its part, the Young Jury, composed of students from the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena and the University of Murcia, decided to award its award to the South Korean feature "Train to busan".
In addition, during the gala was presented the prize of the III Contest of Short Affected Young People to Lucía P. Castejón Losada, student of IES Jiménez de la Espada and winner of the winning work, "Nomofobia", as well as his teacher, Álvaro Jacobo Pérez .
At the end of the awards ceremony, the Ayoho group played live "Ukelelesong", the theme that was the soundtrack of FICC_45.
After the closing act, the film Vuelta a casa de mi madre was shown, a funny French comedy about the irrational microcosm of family relations, directed by Éric Lavaine and starring the two-time winner of Caesar Josiane Balasko.
