The Galactyco Collective of Cartagena and Comarca and the State Federation of Lesbian, Gay, Transsexual and Bisexual Women, FELGTB, recalled in the afternoon of yesterday 1 December to mark World AIDS Day, all victims of this infection, stressing the need That an HIV Pact be urgently approved.
Both groups raised their voices at the foot of the Palace Hall with the reading of a manifesto, which called for the elimination of barriers to access to early diagnosis and treatment, to encourage the training of health personnel and vulnerable groups and to promote scientific research , Epidemiological and psychosocial aspects of this infection.
The event was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, José López, and the mayor of Equality, David Martinez, as well as the president of the Collective Galáctyco, José María García, who addressed all the attendees, and representatives of other political groups , Such as Francisco Espejo, Carolina Palazón, Pilar Marcos, Francisco Martínez, Teresa Sánchez and Ana Rama.
In the context of World AIDS Day, the FELGTB entities want to promote a broad political consensus on HIV / AIDS response policies, both in their preventive and clinical and social aspects, to establish a framework of territorial equality in The fight against this infection.
The vindication of collectives for the creation of the State Pact against HIV, discrimination and stigma has as objectives, besides eliminating barriers to access to evidence, the withdrawal of the cataloging of HIV as a contagious infectious disease in the regulations Of the Autonomous Communities and the Government, to include in the academic program a course on sexual health and prevention to raise awareness of new generations, or the promotion of scientific or psychosocial research.
