The Working Committee on Prevention of the Night Pact table met this morning, Tuesday, November 29, at the San Miguel Administrative Building to present and analyze proposals from the Youth, Sports and Culture Councils and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena in reference to leisure in the young.
The meeting, chaired by the Councilor for Decentralization, Juan Pedro Torralba, was attended by the Councilor for Transparency, María José Soler, as well as technicians of the city council and representatives of other municipal groups such as Carolina Palazón, Pilar Marcos and Ana Rama , And the UPCT, such as Vice-Rector Sergio Amad.
In order to encourage youth leisure during the weekend, the Youth, Deportation and Culture councils will jointly coordinate various activities that will take place on Fridays and Saturdays during the afternoon and evening, and on Sunday mornings.
They will work in a transversal way through the Night Pact.
The afternoon activities would be aimed at those under 18 years of age, and those in the evening for those over 18, orienting them from Sunday morning to doing family activities.
To this end, it is being valued to allocate an economic item for the implementation of these activities by the Night Covenant.
Among these proposals of the different councils, Culture would open once a month the Cultural Center Ramon Alonso Luzzy at night to carry out there activities, and Sports raises within its activities to open pavilions or that elite athletes tutor the young and can bring them their Lifestyle.
The technicians of the councils involved will meet soon to elaborate the possible programming and bring it back to the table of the Covenant by Night.
SURVEYING YOUNG PEOPLE
For its part, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena has conducted a survey of 300 young people from the university and shared the conclusions with the Working Committee of the Night Pact.
Among these conclusions, not all young people are involved in having an evening entertainment space, and show their interest in sports activities, musical activities and ask for activities on Sunday mornings as excursions or coexistence.
The UPCT is proposing to extrapolate this survey to also know the opinions are concerns of the students of the institutes.
