The representatives of forty-five non-profit social entities have received today, November 22, the agreements for which they will receive a grant from the City of Cartagena to carry out their projects in the area of ​​Social Services with a total amount of More than 300,000 euros.
The event, chaired by the mayor of Cartagena, José López, was also attended by Deputy Mayor Ana Belén Castejón and the Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martín.
The first mayor stressed that this is the first time that this type of subsidy is granted by competitive bidding regime.
José López has remarked that the associations have had to present a program of activities with what they are going to do and at the end of the year will have to justify that these programs have been fulfilled.
Finally, the mayor has thanked that where the work of the Administration and the politicians do not reach, civil society will come through this type of initiatives.
A work that, according to Lopez, perform quietly for 365 days a year.
