The Plaza San Francisco will be the object of a series of actions aimed at providing greater prestige and functionality to the site.

Thus, at the request of the mayor, José López, the area of ​​Infrastructures of the City of Cartagena works to undertake, after the festive period of Christmas, a set of actions on this central plaza.

The measures will contemplate the pruning of the ficus that surround the square in order to continue with the process of monitoring and conditioning of this type of woodland.

However, issues such as drought have affected the dryness of the branches, which together with other factors, advises a more intensive pruning, focusing this action to ensure safety on public roads, before possible landslides that may also affect Streetlights or facades of buildings.

In the same way, we work in a new location for the monument to Isidoro Máiquez.

With this decision, the municipal government tries to restore the dignity lost, after the last remodeling in the square, to the statue that recalls the figure of the famous Cartagena actor, one of the great representatives of Spanish theater of the late eighteenth century and early Of the XIX.

PERMANENT SCENARIO
