The evaluation commission of the 8th Voluntary Commitment Award has awarded the individual prize to the charter Marina Cremades Quinto, a volunteer of the Charity Association of San Vicente de Paul, who has had a life of service to others with more than sixty years of volunteering .

Among other tasks, Marina Cremades was a member of the Ladies and Daughters of Charity. She was also a member of the Vincentian volunteers of which she served as treasurer and president for several years. She was the founder of the Santa Luisa-San Ginés group in the six hundred , Dedicated since 1993 to the care and promotion of the most vulnerable groups in these neighborhoods, especially women and children in situations of social exclusion.

The organization of this award depends on the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena, which has met to decide the winners in 2016. The commission was chaired by the Councilor for Quality of Life, Francisco Calderon, along with the mayor of Social Services , Carmen Martín del Amor, and technicians of Education, Equality, Sports, Youth and Social Services.

In addition to awarding Marina Cremades, the court has assessed the trajectory in the area of ​​voluntary action by associations and in this collective modality the award has been awarded to the volunteer service of the NGO ACCEM, dedicated to improving the living conditions of People who are most vulnerable in our society and especially the refugees, immigrants and people at risk of social exclusion.

His work in our city has a trajectory of ten years, in which a total of 63 volunteers have fulfilled different functions.

We wanted to thank in this way the invaluable work carried out by both the NGO ACCEM and Marina Cremades at a particular level and give them a small boost to continue working on improving the living conditions of the most disadvantaged groups in our society , Said the councilor Carmen Martin of Love.

The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 7:00 pm in the Aula de Cultura de la CAM, located on the Calle Mayor of Cartagena and will be attended by the mayor Carmen Martín .
