The councilor of the Area of ​​Culture and Archaeological Heritage, Ricardo Segado, together with the municipal coordinator of Historical and Archaeological Heritage, María del Carmen Berrocal, met today, Monday, November 21, with the most representative groups in matters of material and immaterial Of the city of Cartagena.

The meeting, which was held at the Molina Palace, has been attended by members of the Monte Miral Association;

The Virgen de la Caridad Citizen Platform;

The Windlass Coordinator;

Civic Convergence;

Cartagena of my soul;

Sierra Minera Foundation;

The Association of Defense of Historical Heritage (DAPHNE);

The Heritage Defense Association (ADEPA) and the Instituto Cartagenero de Investigaciones Históricos (INCIS).

There have also been official chroniclers from Cartagena such as Luis Miguel Pérez Adán, José Sánchez Conesa, or Francisco José Franco Fernández.

This meeting had the purpose of equipping the groups with a channel for the presentation of initiatives in which they reflect their scale of priorities, while being informed, through the mayor and the coordinator, about the main lines of action of the municipal government In this matter.

According to Ricardo Segado, it was important to bring together all these groups that a few months ago joined in a Coordinator of Heritage and, from there, the germ of a future Advisory Council of the Heritage of Cartagena, which had been demanded by citizens for a long time Many years, and that we believe from this municipal government that it is important to create it.

As a result of these meetings, we hope that by the beginning of this year we will officially establish this Local Heritage Advisory Council.

Beyond the possibility given to collectives and individuals to show their preferences with participatory budgets, this new measure focused on giving voice to the municipal management of collectives, is configured in order to work in a systematic and complementary way with the agents involved in the matter.

In this way, it is intended to establish a coordinated work in view of the present and future challenge of the enormous heritage of Cartagena, with deposits and constructions such as the Molinete, Monte Sacro, Plaza de la Merced, Amphitheater, Cathedral, Windmills, as well as Those referred to intangible heritage, with care for traditions and folklore.
