Students of the degree in Engineering of Mineral Resources and Energy of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) have celebrated this morning the beginning of the Santa Bárbara Festivities, patron of the studies of Mines for more than a century, singing 'I am Miner 'lyrics in the style of Antonio Molina.
The students, dressed in reflective vests and helmets, have walked the campus of Alfonso XIII throwing firecrackers with the song "gunpowder, gunpowder, gunpowder" and have sung at the door of the School of Roads and Mines (EICM) of the Polytechnic .
The director of the School, Manuel Alcaraz, explains that with this song are beginning the centenaries Santa Barbara parties in recent years.
In the program of the Festivities, a visit to the Sierra Minera is included, as is the case every year.
