About 800 people gathered last Sunday, November 20, at the Pavilion of the Industrial Estate Cabezo Beaza around a paired solidarity of Manos Unidas, in order to raise funds to start projects in underdeveloped countries.
This is the eighth consecutive year that the NGO is carrying out this activity, earmarking on this occasion the funds raised to Togo, where they will start the construction of water wells and train the inhabitants so that they know how and what to cultivate.
The City Council of Cartagena joined this event with the assistance of the Mayor of Cartagena, José López, the Councilor for Public Safety, Francisco Aznar, the Councilor for Finance, Isabel Garcia, the Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martín, and the Councilor for Transparencia, María José Soler, as well as the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Miguel Martínez.
In this solidarity paella was also present the delegate of Manos Unidas in Cartagena, Mercedes Sánchez.
The activity began around two in the afternoon and had a price of 15 euros, which included snacks, paella, fruit, sweets and coffee.
There was also a raffle with numerous prizes for the winners, such as bicycles, televisions, dinners and haircuts at zero cost, prizes that were made possible by merchants and entrepreneurs in the city.
