During the past weekend, Cartagena celebrated a series of masses in honor of the Holy and Real Christ of Mercy, which on the occasion of the Year of Mercy has remained during the last months in the Church of Santa Maria de Gracia.
On Friday, the image of the Christ of Mercy was dismissed with a Mass celebrated in the Church of Santa Maria and during the day of Saturday the transfer of the Christ was proceeded to the Church of San Gines, habitual residence of the image.
On Sunday a Solemn Mass was held in honor of the Cristo Rey at noon and at the church of San Ginés, which was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, José López, the Councilor for the Quality of Life Area, Francisco Calderón, The Councilor for Transparency, María José Soler, the President of the Autonomous Community, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, the older brother, Juan Carlos de la Cerra, and the president of the California group, Manuel Baños.
