The Year of Modernism continues its journey and now it is carried on a train that will travel the main streets of the historic center to make known the rich heritage of the city while bringing tourists to the establishments of the Open Shopping Center.
The Modernism train today, November 18, held its inaugural ride from the esplanade of the adjacent avenue to the Plaza de Héroes de Cavite and Santiago de Cuba, which was attended by a large representation of the Municipal Corporation headed by the mayor Of Cartagena, José López.
The first mayor of the city has been accompanied by the second lieutenant of mayor, Francisco Calderón;
The Councilor for Culture, Ricardo Segado;
And by the Councilor for Transparency, María José Soler;
Among other ediles.
José López has highlighted that this train comes to show that in Cartagena there is an Open Shopping Center that extends along a city that has a heritage of 109 Modernist buildings.
The mayor thanked Open Shopping Center for this initiative and invited the Cartagena and tourists to take the train and make purchases.
With the aim of improving mobility in the old town and attending to the demand of merchants to facilitate the access of citizens and tourists to the historic center also expressed today by the president of Centro Comercial Abierto, Antonio Sánchez Arenas;
From the Department of Infrastructures are preparing a Plan of Mobility, according to has advanced Jose Lopez, will have three or four parking districts.
This Plan will be finalized on December and this date will be announced more details of the same.
TRAVEL AND SCHEDULE
The train will run every day from 11 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 10 pm by San Diego Subway, Serreta, San Francisco Square, Jara Street, San Sebastian Square, Puertas de Murcia, Calle del Carmen and Calle Real.
