101 clubs of different sports modalities in the municipality of Cartagena will receive 540 thousand euros for the promotion of their respective sports, as agreed this morning by the Local Government Board, chaired by the mayor, José López.
At the proposal of the councilman of Councilor for Sports, Ricardo Segado, the final resolution corresponding to the call of the year 2016 for the granting of subsidies through the procedure of competitive concurrence to non-profit sports organizations and associations has been approved.
In the subsidies section, the Board has also approved a subsidy of 68,212.75 euros for the Guild of Easter Fraternities corresponding to the collection of the sale of the chairs of the last processions.
As will be remembered the chairs of Holy Week are awarded by the City Council to a company and the collection of the operating fee is delivered directly to the cofradías.
In this sense, the mayor, José López, expressed, at the end of the meeting and questions of the journalists, his willingness for the cofradías to directly manage the operation of the chairs, although it will be necessary to wait until the current concession expires next year And establish the relevant system that respects the rights of bar terraces.
The board has also approved a grant of 8,000 euros to Sodicar and 900 euros to the Carnival Commission, also corresponding to the collection of the sale of chair during the parade this year.
