The mayor, José López, attended this morning, at the Palacio de Aguirre, to set up the working table for the development of the Logistics Storage Zone (ZAL) of Los Camachos.
Of this work table they form part next to the City council of Cartagena, the Autonomous Community of the Region of Muria;
The state administration;
The Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Cartagena and Comarca (COEC);
The Chamber of Commerce;
Port Authority and the Los Camachos Industrial Estate.
To the constituent meeting were attended by the mayor, the Councilors of Development and Infrastructures, Pedro Rivera, and of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, Juan Hernández, along with representatives of the business fabric of the municipality, as the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Miguel Martínez, and the president of COEC, Pedro Pablo Hernández.
Lopez has begun by thanking "the day has come when we have begun to talk about the Logistics Storage Zone," as well as pointing out the suitability of this working group to have a municipal Infrastructure and Urbanism technician to "eliminate problems before Even that they leave "and endow this project with the speed it requires.
According to the mayor, a high industrial and horticultural production is concentrated in Cartagena, and thanks to the Port's situation, it highlights container and bulk traffic, something strategic for the location of a Logistic Activities Zone that would consolidate the city as a logistic enclave international.
The first mayor recalled that "all organisms always link the ZAL to a port infrastructure, therefore, the need to be in Los Camachos is important", in addition to asking if "SEPES is able to put industrial land to low Price so that the entrepreneurs of Cartagena can make a quick bet to invest in that Logistic Storage Zone. "
In the same way, it has requested the Autonomous Community collaboration for the transfer of the free deposit to Los Camachos to allow its growth and as a first step of the future ZAL.
With regard to the study carried out by the INFO in 2003 on the viability of the ZAL of Cartagena, the mayor has called for the need to publicize its contents since, among other things, he concluded that the ZAL of Cartagena was perfect to link it "in its Operation with the Transport City of Murcia and Lorca ".
This work, 'Feasibility Study and Functionality of the Logistic Activities Zone (ZAL) of Cartagena', reflected the importance of promoting the construction of this infrastructure, as well as the positive and generative effect of wealth that would have on Cartagena, the Region and the region.
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND ENTREPRENEURS
Another of the sectors involved in the table has been the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, whose representative, the president, Miguel Martinez, has transmitted the road map defended by its partners, coinciding in key aspects with what was defended by the mayor, José López.
In this sense, they advocate for the effective execution of the feasibility plan that certifies the obvious need for the installation of the ZAL in Los Camachos;
The transfer there of the free deposit and the reactivation of the project aimed at the materialization of the city of transport in Los Camachos, supporting this claim in the industrial and business volume generated in the region of the Campo de Cartagena.
On the other hand, the business representatives have maintained their argument in the consideration of the port of Cartagena as the dock with greater volume of movement of liquid and solid bulk.
Also, since Cartagena is the largest energy pole in the country, in addition to its consolidation as a power in the export of livestock and in the fruit and vegetable production generated (90% of the regional total corresponds to the Campo de Cartagena).
Another of the issues highlighted during the meeting is the indispensable need to undertake the study, bidding and execution of the Beniel baipas that would facilitate the immediate arrival of the AVE to Cartagena, while ensuring the direct rail connection of the port of Cartagena to the Corridor Mediterranean.
It is an indispensable infrastructure to contribute to an effective and real structure of the Region.
CARTAGENA MEETING HIGH SPEED
López has confirmed, on the other hand, that the long-sought by the municipal government of the meeting of the company Cartagena Alta Velocidad will be held on December 13 before the mayor's inability to attend the meeting that was scheduled for the day 29 of this month.
VERTEBRAR THE RULE AROUND THE SEA MINOR
The mayor of Cartagena, José López, wanted to applaud that from the Ministry of Development will meet with the student who has presented a final project on the extension of the LVEF to La Manga.
"We are delighted that they see with good eyes how the talents of the Polytechnic University can help give options and solve problems. We hope to vertebrate the region of Cartagena around the Mar Menor with an infrastructure as necessary and vital as LVEF," he said.
The first mayor added the need to remove that border that separates the neighborhood of Los Mateos with the rest of Cartagena and that in a future can reach an annex to the station of Victor Beltrí to contribute to intermodality.
