The School of Hospitality has organized this morning in Murcia Gastronómica a demonstration of typical desserts from Cartagena, in which fourteen first and second year students participated, led by Professors Agustín Caparrós Jiménez and Ramón Villar Molina.
The students of first have prepared tortada cartagenera, cordiales and explorers, while its teacher has been explaining to the public each one of the steps of the recipes and, to the 13.30 hours, the students of second course have put to the work to do A more elaborate dish, called Our Asian Dessert.
The inauguration of the exhibition was attended by the Deputy Mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, who highlighted the importance of Cartagena's participation in the event for the first time, as well as the role played today by the students of the School of Hospitality .
They have been the real protagonists of our stand today.
We have demonstrated the quality of the professionals that we are forming and for them it has been a very special challenge, because many have faced for the first time the public and, in addition, a very demanding public as it is the one that attends Gastronomic Murcia, has explained .
The area of ​​the region has also had the participation of restaurants D'Almansa, with its eggplant chips with cane and sesame honey and Iberian liadito stuffed with cheddar cheese with pineapple chutney;
Los Habaneros, who has brought tuna tataki and octopus carpaccio with ice cream;
And Sacromonte, with stew of lobster and apple strudel and foie.
Also participating in the conference are the Salitre restaurant in La Manga, which will be the four days of the event, and has presented its bread roll with tomato, smoked salmon and wakame caviar, Cuban bahokata and terramisú.
They have also been able to taste and purchase the products of several Cartagena companies such as the V Colinas gin, Bodegas Serrano wines, La Yerbera cheeses, graniada artisans from La Limonada de la Abuela Isabel and catering supplies from José Díaz.
