The Local Housing Board has met this morning to present the management report of the actions carried out during the year and set future goals.
This table works to give answers to the existing problems regarding housing in the municipality of Cartagena.
The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Cartagena, José López, the Deputy Mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, the councilors Francisco Calderón, Francisco Aznar and Carmen Martín, as well as municipal social services technicians or representatives of the different agents involved as the Platform Affected by The Mortgage (PAH).
Since its creation on June 2 of this year, 555 resources have been made and 515 families have been assisted, with actions ranging from social rent, such as the provision of housing by banks to families with needs through The Department of Social Services, and the suspension of eviction, as indicated by the mayor.
Lopez has described the work performed as very good with good results, a work whose actions have transcended outside the borders of the municipality of Cartagena.
We are working so that all Cartagena have decent housing and we will not be complacent and we will continue to strive for less and less people affected, he added, indicating that as long as there is a homeless and affected by homelessness To continue working from the City Hall so as not to turn the face of the neighbors or their problems.
In the face of future actions, it is expected that regulations will be established to regulate the criteria for the award of these houses and to prioritize their recipients, as well as the creation of flyers that identify the agents that participate in the Housing Table So that the affected ones lose the fear.
The mayor has added the intention that the City Council becomes a friend to solve these problems related to housing.
The first mayor stressed that the important thing about this table is that it is a working group with socially committed people, ready to advance with the needs of society.
