The mayor of Cartagena, José López, and the Councilor for Sports, Ricardo Segado, received this morning at the Consistorial Palace, Diego Perez Meroño, a member of the Yacht Club of Santa Lucia, who proclaimed the U21 World Champion in the Individual and team category in the Mar-Costacelebrado Sports Fishing Championship last October at the beaches of Pinar and Gurugú in Castellón.

Diego Perez, a nineteen-year-old student of agricultural engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, was one of the great winners of the sixteenth edition of the World Championship of Sport Fishing, far exceeding the results of his first World Cup in Holland, Where he finished in twelfth place.
