The City of Cartagena has included people with visual disabilities among the recipients of the special parking card.
The decision, which will be implemented immediately, is the result of the meeting held yesterday between the councilors of Interior and Social Services, Francisco Aznar and Carmen Martín del Amor, with representatives of ONCE in Cartagena.
Up to now this type of cards was issued for people with reduced mobility and, from now on, will also extend to people with vision problems, following an ONCE claim that was to comply with RD 1056/2014 of December 12, By which regulates the basic conditions of emission and use of the parking card for people with disabilities.
This Government team continues to work to support each and every one of the initiatives that are aimed at ensuring full inclusion and this is one of them.
People with severe visual problems have a recognized disability and, therefore, the right to use this card, explained Interior Councilor Francisco Aznar.
In order to have access to the parking card for people with disabilities, applicants must comply with a number of requirements, including highlighting a visual acuity equal to or less than 0.1 with correction, or a visual field Reduced to 10 degrees or less, dictated by the multiprofessional teams of qualification and recognition of the degree of disability.
