The Faculty of Business, formerly CIM, of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, hosts from today, 25 October, until next Thursday 27, the fourth operational Congress Workshop Intervention technological risks, which will bring together more than a hundred subject matter experts.
The institutional presentation was held this morning by the mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, besides the chairman of the Port Authority, Antonio Sevilla, and the Minister of Presidency of the CARM, Maria Dolores Pagán.
Among the public, it was also attended by the Councillor for Public Safety, Francisco Aznar, and troops of the Fire Department of Cartagena.
After passing through cities like Tarragona, Barcelona and Bilbao, the Workshop comes to Cartagena with different activities, from the presentation development working groups, such as the promotion of new on chemical risk or technological field or criminal liability of firefighters interventions.
The mayor, Jose Lopez, has indicated that it is essential to the realization of these working sessions in Cartagena for the particularity of the energy center which is the Valley of tailings and the city stuck to the Valley, with the presence also of the chemical industry with Sabic.
Because of these conditions, the mayor has indicated that contributing with different companies and making them more transparent and accessible, Cartagena could become a benchmark in terms of tackling fires with chemical hazards and dangerous goods transport.
In this congress, with the collaboration of the Rescue and Fire Fighting Cartagena, it is also presented officially to the media in the manual Operation Guide: Intervention to accidents in the transport of dangerous goods in tankers.
